Vin said it wasn't going to be.
shareKnew they'd delay it but not a whole year. I stand with the decision though. When you're dealing with billion dollar plus franchises, you can't be playing around with chaos variables. I just think it's incredibly naive to assume there won't be another global disaster next year. I got a feeling every year is gonna be a new shit show apocalypse the rest of this century.
shareCounter-argument:
A lot of their fans -- who would have paid to see the movie this year -- could be dead next year. Moreso, if COVID 19 mutates to something more deadly.
Math!
If the global economy shuts down, it likely won't be back up to speed in a year's time. Also, if they keep pulling all the movies, a lot of theaters might go out of business by the time the movies are released. It's like a traffic jam. You can clear the accident ahead, but the delays will continue to ripple back for hours after. This problem likely won't be any more cleared up a year from now. This certainly isn't the time for packed rooms of strangers to be sitting around coughing all over each for three hours. But it's gonna mess up the movie industry for years. A devastating financial blow to Hollywood no matter how you slice it.
shareKind of ironic the likes of F&F desperately attempting to appeal to the Chinese audience for extra $s and yet its because of china that its having to have a whole year delay and everything is shutting down
