It's not going to be easy for the series moving forward...

The best Witcher books are the first two with the short stories by far. That's what they largely took from, but certainly changed a lot in this season. The following saga is all over the place. The books aren't that long, but felt much longer to me with how convoluted things got at times. I believe it will be very hard to film and maintain interest in the main characters with all the new additions and largely disconnected plots. So likely they will have change it more and make up things, which is never good for these type of books turned into TV shows.

The main concern of these shows is to present the viewer with the notion that racism bad and strong women good. Good storytelling always comes second to these concerns. The people who direct these all pat eachother in the back during their cocktail parties for having done something to end racism and misogyny. They destroy everything that is good.

But that's not what the books are about. Sapkowski wrote about personal choices every sentient being has to make in every situation. No one is inherently bad or good - we are evil only if we choose to do evil.
And racism in his book is something that members of every sentient race do . Not just humans.
