DEIscovery... how's that woking out for ya?

None of my trek fan friends have ever watched this and never will.

DEI is fading quicker now, for obvious reasons: it was crap.
Hopefully shows and movies can get back to entertaining instead of jamming thick agendas down our throats.

It's not fading - still peaking.

meh... they'd like to think so. world seems delusional now days. in real life and business expereince, much DEI is being shut down. WISHING or THINKING HOPING it isn't is a false narative, and living in delusion world.

It's the 'Ebonics' of 2020s

I hope you are right, but I haven't seen any evidence of it being shut down just yet.
On the contrary, Oscars now has a DEI criteria for the awards.

Let's look at extremes - if you have an all black cast and production team (only men or only women, for example), you are eligible for an award.
If you have all female (black or white) cast/production - eligible.
The only extreme that is not eligible for an award - all straight white men cast/production.

The show or DEI?

Show’s been cancelled and studios are loosing more and more money on woke projects.

They’re still pushing it but not because it’s successful. It’s on its way out.

reply

DEI was never really pushed because it was financially successful. We are looking at social engineering.
As for studios, they are still making money through ESG investments.
There's no way they would continue pushing it, while having so many losing projects on their hands, if they weren't compensated for those losses. Furthermore, the CEOs agree with the social engineering agenda - so losing reputation and loss of audience is a small price to pay - especially if they are also being financially rewarded for the deed.

I’ve been a huge Trek fan since I was a kid and I watch this.

It’s nowhere near as good as the other Treks and I never liked Burnham, but bad Trek is still better than most other shows.

I agree about DEI (i.e. wokesploitation) though. Thankfully studios are starting to realize — though not fast though — that there isn’t a viable audience for it.
