In the first Despicable Me movie there is a scene where two Minions kiss. Since all the Minions are male that makes it a same sex kiss. Despite this Despicable Me has gone on to be a multi billion dollar franchise.

was the relationship of those two a major focus of that movie? or was it just a passing excitement, cheering "grab nearest person and kiss them" celebration quick event?
