In the movie McAvoy's character is describing what the beast looks like...covered in hair, longer than normal fingers...I immediately thought of the comic book drawing Mr. Glass did in Unbreakable of the beast who had freakish figures and was covered in hair and had long figures....could McAvoy's character been inspired by Mr. Glass's drawings to create that personality?
shareCertainly possible. My understanding is that Mr. Glass is going to help David Dunn track down The Beast in the next movie, so it would not surprise me if there was some kind of connection between them.
shareExtremely likely. We know the character of Kevin Wendell Crumb was originally meant to be in “Unbreakable”, so chances are M. Night took The Beast’s conception from Glass’s drawing, because after all Glass would obviously be the one to track down a supernatural being like The Beast (or possibly be behind his existence somehow). It was no coincidence
And while “Split” could have worked as a stand alone film, I’m seriously liking the connection with “Unbreakable.”
