It's a pity they messed it up with the happy-clappy ending.

This film actually had a story with some real bloody meat on its bones and they should have followed it through to it's logical and gory conclusion with the evil Queen being torn to pieces. But oh no that would never do.

So after all the mayhem and killing of people who didn't matter everyone that's left alive kisses, makes up and "moves forward" in peace, unity and harmony like good little woke folk. It's propaganda and it's a lie.

Don’t forget this is a children’s film! Happy endings are pretty crucial 😂

Tearing the evil Queen to pieces wouldn't have been a happy ending !?

reply

Nonsense. Children are capable of understanding that not everything ends well. In fact it is crucial that they do understand it, else they grop up into those who propose participation awards.

I do understand what you mean but I think that her staying an animal for the rest of her life is a good ending for a children’s film. She doesn't need to be torn to pieces, you should be able show kids you don’t always have to end things with violence to be the winner.

Well it kind of fits with the theme from the first movie where turning it into an animal was Maleficents favourite punishment.

Its disney. They will literally turn a cautionary tale about trusting criminals (Hunchback) into a happy ending for the criminals. Disney cannot help themselves.

reply

Yeah, it's a very Disney-fied ending. And it makes no sense because the rest of the movie doesn't shy away from literally incinerating characters left and right.

How did she resurrect anyway? Was there any explaining detail?
