I am thinking about starting the killjoys or dark matter, but before I do can someone tell me if either show has the production value equivalent to the expanse?
Essentially, I want to make sure that I don't waste my time with a sci-fi show that's cheaply produced, acted and written.

Dark Matter is the unofficial sequel to Firefly IMO. Loved it. Fell in love with the entire cast. The show knew when to get extremely brutal and when to be slightly light hearted.
I didn't like Killjoys at all.
12 Monkeys was sorta cool but wasn't quite good enough for me to choose over other options. Got mostly through S1. Not bad but not engaging enough. Better than KJ, though.
I liked DM more than KJ , but when KJ was all that was left i watched it , and found theyed made another 4 series!

How many episodes did it take you to warm up to it? I watched 2 and was meh. Didn't hate it like Revolution and Under the Dome but I was not romanced by it. Maybe I'll give it another shot.
Have you watched Cowboy Beebop? That is the flagship space-bountyhunter series IMO.
They drop the bounty hunter thing after series 1, they still hunters but its all about this Alien infiltration thing , for better or worse.
I think i'd have preferd it if they stayed like series 1.
People keep recommending Cowboy Bebop , im not sure if i can immerse fully in animation though.
You'd be surprised. I am not an anime fan (though I liked a lot of it 20 years ago). This one breaks the mold. Jazz. cigarette smoking, noir feel. I hate that they are making alive action remake.
