So the predator wanted to save us/help us and brought a special suit with to give to us. Why then, is he killing us? It makes no sense.

I'm guessing he needed to get that suit to someone worthy enough.
So, everyone who was trying to stop him were in the way, sorta.

I'm still confused. So he had to kill people of the species he's trying to help, to find the right one of the species to give it to? This movie makes my head hurt.

Don’t hurt your head because of this. This is a bad film that makes no sense.

This is the central flaw in this otherwise big fun popcorn movie. There's no real good answer. Ah well.
