The 3rd anthology film

Why on Earth would they ever do an Obi-Wan or Yoda film? Didn't we pretty much get their backstories in the prequels?

reply

Depends on where or not you think obi wan sat on his ass in the desert doing nothing for 17 years.

As for yoda, there’s 900 years of story there.

reply

What exactly is there to tell about Obi-Wan in between Episodes III and IV? I mean it's pretty well been established that he never did anything of importance, I feel that would have been mentioned in Rogue One

As for Yoda unless the story they tell connects with the OT I don't see the point in it.

reply

Why does everything have to connect to the OT? If anything the OT is holding Star Wars back. That story is told, leave it alone. The Star Wars universe is huge, time to explore other people an times if need be.

As for obi wan, we don’t know what he did in those 17 years. He may have done nothing, he may have done a lot, we don’t know. Wouldn’t that be the point of a movie? Unless you’re looking for an OT connect there as well?

Leave the OT alone, it’s story is told. Time to move on.

reply

The point of the anthology films is to give the other films more emotional weight. Getting a backstory on Yoda 900 years ago that has nothing to do with the OT or the prequels would be the dumbest thing ever.

reply

Where did you get that from? Sounds like your making things up just so you have an excuse to moan. There can and should be more to Star Wars than the skywalkers family drama.

reply

Because it's always focused on the Skywalkers you dumb bitch.

If you had your way then the next James Bond movie would focus on 004 because it's not just about Bond it's about all of MI6.

reply

Wow, didn’t take long for the “dumb bitch” stuff to start. Funny how you say you’re not sexist but one challenge to your little ego and it’s full rage mode. You should seek help. I mean just so you don’t have to keep going through keyboards, not cause you’ll actually get into any real trouble. We know that prissy little keyboard warriors like yourself are giant pussies in the real world. That why so much anger on the internet.

Anyway, in answer to you’re dumb fuck assertion that it’s always been about the skywalkers, all I can say is the mountains of video games, tv shows, books comics etc would beg to differ. The central movies have always been about the skywalkers, that doesn’t mean Star Wars is ONLY about skywalkers.

reply

I'm just calling it like it is. I'm sorry your so butthurt about it but you need to get over it.

And this is my thread, you didn't have to post here but you did because you're an attention whore. This thread is also about the movies, not the video games, tv shows, books, comics, etc. Your reading comprehension isn't very good is it?

reply

Lol you’re the butthurt little child. You’re one getting all super angry over nothing. I bet you stomped your feet She you typed “this is my thread!” Lol.

Pathetic little loser.

reply

Ha, I am perfectly fine. You're the one who had an issue when you came onto my thread. I don't seem to remember putting a gun to your head and forcing you to post.

reply

He might not have done anything of importance to the overall plot of the OT. But if you cannot think of something awesome regarding Obi Wan, then you just don't have any imagination.

What I would love to see is a Batman-Logan kind of Western. Where Obi Wan is protecting Tatooine (or at least, the place where Luke is growing up) like a vigilante, while also guarding over Luke. There are endless stories you could tell revolving Obi Wan on that planet. Why limit your mind and imagination like this?

Like SusieQ says, not EVERYTHING has to have OT connections. A solo adventure with Obi Wan, starring Ewan McGregor is something I dream about because I love Ewan as Obi Wan so much. Its only 1 movie, so who cares? Let the main saga be this grand thing on epic scale. A very personal Obi Wan movie akin to Logan would be amazing. Him having to overcome his PTST with losing Anakin and all the mass slaughter in the Galaxy and all. A broken man, trying to get himself back together. It could be immensely engaging.

reply

How about a Sopranos-style Jabba movie?

reply

OK that might work since Jabba is a cool character. The point I'm making is we know pretty much everything we need to know about Yoda and Obi-Wan from the prequels, their characters don't need to be expanded anymore.

reply

My interest in Obi-Wan hinges entirely on Ewan returning to the role. Seeing him play the character without the baggage of the Anakin storyline. It's certainly not a story in the saga that needs to be told.

Who in there right mind could sit through two hours of Yoda talking backwards? That's a movie that shouldn't ever be made.
