If straight people can turn gay, why can't the opposite be true too?

People don't "turn gay" or "turn straight", they've simply hidden who they are in an effort to live up to social norms and not be discriminated against(in the cases of gay people coming out of the closet).
As far as someone being able to switch back and forth, everyone here seems to be forgetting that bisexuality is a thing.
If someone chooses only to act on heterosexual relationships while also being attracted to the same sex, they are not all of a sudden "straight", they're bisexual and predominantly leaning to the opposite gender.
Sheesh.
No one can turn attraction on or off, to anything, gender included.

Because straight people don't turn gay and gay people don't turn straight..there is this thing called BISEXUALITY for heaven's sake.

I believe that a man or woman can come up to believe that they are gay and live a gay life when they were simply confused. Then when they realize that they were never gay they can act on it and become straight again.

I've read comments from people who have talked with the real-life Michael and apparently he doesn't really like girls very much; he married a woman mainly because he believes that's what Jesus wants.

Freud said that to all men homosexuality smolders inside. That's why to a certain age boys do things with their friends sometimes. I don't think homosexuality is something genetic. I think everything is in our brains. If we want women or men or both genders. It's choices and decisions depending to the stimulus we receive every day since the day we born. So i think it's more psychologically than genetic. And i believe that every gay can be straight or the opposite. Depending the situations. Sometimes we try things in our lives. We do experiments to our selves. Just to have the knowledge or simply the experience to something. And sometimes we like something more than what we did before. Because we didn't have the clue about the other side.And sometimes our life play games with our heart and our mind. For instance. I will say something about myself. All my life i had relationships with girls. Never thought myself that i will see a boy the same way. Never had an experience with a guy or even a thought. But lately i suffer from a huge love for my best friend. Which to me is a mysterious thing cause i don't know what he is thinking or what he has in his mind. He is a virgin 22 years old he despise women and never had a simple connection with a girl but also sometimes when he refers to gay people he simply says the word for them as perverts. Still he is a religious guy but he is so inexperienced in his life. He listens to his parents all the time. And sometimes i'm thinking God give me the strength to talk to him. But i can't. I don't want to lose him as a friend but also i'm seeing him now erotically. Many people told me confess everything to him or leave him. And i know that many people will tell me the same thing here. But simply i can't. I just want to wait little more. He is only 22 years old and i don't know what he has in his mind. All i know is that i love him so much and that i never had the same so powerful feeling with a girl so far. By the way im 36 years old but i look like 26. Irrelevant but i wanted to mention it. The point is that i know gay people that turned their selves to straight and the opposite. Cause i think that everything is possible in this life. Never say never they say. Life can turn your world upside down to a simple moment. That's what happened to me. To my 36 years i live.

I don't know if I believe in turning gay so much as discovering you're gay.

It would kind of be impossible to miss because heterosexuality is the default, it's automatically assumed. Also, there's no major risk or obstacle in identifying as heterosexual, so it's unlikely that you'd ever go on a path leading you to discover you were straight; especially not after undertaking one that led you to discovering you were gay.
