Critics are spot on the money with this one

One cliche after the next accompanied by the most excruciatingly loud soundtrack that doesn't build one iota of tension but rather leaves the viewers feeling like they have been tossed about in a laundromat for an hour and a half.

Director John R. Leonetti (who judging by this film appears to be a complete hack) wouldn't know tension and subtlety if it bludgeoned him to death with a sledgehammer.

If this is what passes for horror today then please pass me the club so I can bash its head in.

Or you could just find something else to watch. I liked it and my friends did too. It was no masterpiece, but it was all right.

Or maybe he was a fan of The Conjuring and thought this one would be good and was left dissapointed like the rest of us, you stupid bitch

It wasn't alright, and please learn how to spell. I presume you're a child.

reply

reply

Really liked the Conjuring movies, shame this one was so lackluster.

Watching this in preparation for the second film and I have to agree. I like the story concept but the execution was very poorly done. And there really is no one else to blame but the director. So many scenes didn't have the tension needed to make it effective, it was worse than any tv film. Because tv films are often directed by competent directors or ones who at least have some experience behind the camera. The director here was obviously in over his head and very amateurish.

It was really really bad. I liked The Conjuring, but there was no effort made with this whatsoever. And the stupid demon thing holding the doll? Seriously?

reply

yes this movie just plain sucks

reply

I'll take it over the third movie. I just saw the trailer and it looks utterly stupid.
