THAT man (spoilers)

Yes I'm talking about the guy who never voted or spoke. Why the *beep* are people on here so sympathetic to him? Unless he proved he was deaf somehow, which he obviously didn't and obviously wasn't, he should of been one of the first to be shanked for being too uptight to speak, too hesitant to vote, and too selfish for self sacrifice. Geez, am I the only one who was stunned to see him last so long?

Because people who run their mouths mindlessly are irritating, that is pretty much what everyone else did, except the child and pregnant woman. They kept going on and on arguing over things that didn't matter at the time.

reply

Completely agree.

IMO this character was a plot-flaw, he would've been noticed and taken out way earlier.

During the first pan-around showing almost all the characters arguing and panicking, we see Silent Man already crossing him arms, a sign of decisiveness, stubbornness and closing oneself off

I think the notion was that he figured out, early on, it was a game they were being forced to play. And he consciously chose NOT to play.

He doesn't need our sympathy, nor would he want it

As for how he lasted so long, in his silence, he drew no attention to himself. Had anyone tried to talk to him and gotten the silent treatment, he'd have been eliminated immediately thereafter. It's dumb luck they didn't notice him, but doesn't strain credulity

I just watched this movie and I agree with you. This exposition of him makes sense
