If you people are over 20, it is unseemly and a little nauseating to continue to watch the superhero garbage of one's youth.

Ah, the ubiquitous, pretentious nut proclaiming his supposedly superior intellect and perfect taste; the usual mark of an immature mind trying very hard to appear grown up.

sharePeople who think they are superior because they "so smart" as to not like certain genres of entertainment are generally of an infantile mindset, so impressed by their own "awesomeness" they belong to that subset of individuals who seem to think they are better than everyone else and those inferiors should be taking their advice. Such persons are rarely pleasant to be around and tend to immature reactions and temper tantrums when people do not agree with them.

shareAh, yes. Because I do enjoy superhero movies I must hate "more significant fare." I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but my taste range over a large and varied oevre of material.
Films of all kinds are still produced. Currently Superhero films are very popular. Other types of films have had their days in the sun and will again. However there are hundreds (if not thousands) of films are made every year. Only a fraction are super heroes. You are allowing their current prominence to fool your perceptions.
I'm with you on this, but I'm kind of a hypocrite because I still collect comic books. But the movies and shows suck and I haven't bothered to watch one since I think the second Iron Man movie in 2010 or so.

shareSuperhero movies and TV shows were few and very far between 'in my youth.' At last we have an abundance of fun superhero shows. So I am going to watch them and enjoy them, and not listen to pretentious unsolicited opinions on message boards.
Incidentally, I also have a collection of arthouse and foreign films distributed by Criterion Collection, Olive Films and Cohen Media Group. I enjoy media of many types and genres. This isn't high school where you were only supposed to be devoted to one particular genre of something, or risk ridicule from small-minded peers.
