this is such an average movie

Why do they all sound dubbed, and very few people in the movie can even act! It's certainly no surprise the guy playing Nick is not even an actor in real life.

How did this get 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, there is no artistic merit here.

reply

Do you even know what you are talking about? Or do you just enjoy chugging on the hateraid?

reply

Well, I am a movie buff, so yeah, I know enough.

I find it preposterous that something this mediocre gets so much recognition while a gem like Juliet, Naked didn't get any buzz at all (AND got a lower rating on RT).

reply

Maybe no one wanted to see Juliet Naked. :P

reply

If it was called Asians Naked then I would go see it.

reply

Oh geez, it's the name of an album, no one is actually naked there.

reply

I thought we were talking about movies. If they were naked though, I'd probably go see it, and probably more likely if the naked chicks were Asian rather than "Julia," whom I imagine to be a rather crusty Euro hippie with extra pounds.

reply

Oh Jesus Freaking Christ.

"Juliet, Naked" is a name of an album in the movie, it's not about some character named Juliet.

And it's Juliet, obviously, not Julia - although I don't know what kind of art appreciation I can possibly expect from someone who can't even read.

reply

"Juliets" are usually quite pasty, too. Gingers. No thanks.

How are we supposed to know all the details of some random movie you bring up, which is not the movie under discussion, and which by your own admission few saw?

I get it though. You want us to know how much you appreciate "art." You saw a movie that is clearly about identity politics, but played dumb like you didn't know that and were like "arrgh, why rotten tomatoes so high? y no artistic merit? I saw Julia naked and appreciated it artistically, because I know how to recognize and appreciate ARTE!"

reply

You just sound retarded, bye.

Stick to Asian porn, dude - that's obviously the farthest your mental faculties can extend.

reply

Actually, _Transformers_ is my jam.

But I'm taking an Art Appreciation course at my local CC, so soon I hope to offer more sophisticated critiques of cinematic offerings such as the aforementioned.

reply

I agree, it’s a light movie, a rom-com meets tourism promo. But I enjoyed nonetheless. I went to see it with family members of all ages and generations. We all ate popcorn and had a fun old fashioned night out at the flicks. It is a suitable film for that. It came out at the end of the summer films which are usually a mix of action adventures and goofball comedies. It might get some Oscar nods for costume and cinematography, but other than that I would never compare it to serious films.

reply

I agree about them sounding ''dubbed''! what the Hell! I thought that too. More proof that Chinese people can't speak English or act.

This wasn't even a real movie, it was an ''advertisement for the country''. The critics are just being nice and making the SJW's happy by rating it so high. When in reality this movie was not made for SJW's or to be progressive, it was made as a tourism ad for Singapore.

..... and to be honest, I think it will get some tourists in even though the movie was terrible (or was it really even meant to be good at all?). Singapore looks better than Japan or South Korea.
