Why did people stop talking about Clarence before MC happened? Was Clarence a short-lived show? Something happened?

Now I know. Before MC, people rarely posted on the Clarence board. I didn't know the original, let's say, "show runner", was fired due to sexual misconduct.

Maybe the show faded without him involved?

Holy crap is this show funny....i enjoyed it when it released and watching it recently, it was 10x funnier.

Lots of 80s and 90s references

Sumos voice is gold

Nothing else captures the essence of going to the supermarket as a kid or the playground at McDonald's.

80s or 90s, sure. Agreed, not a portrayal of modern kids.
