I Hope this gets canceled soon, to open up the possibilities of new show

I really tried to like this show. I liked Clone Wars. It was a mix of meandering stories, that did not add to the mythology or progress the story forward, and exiting episodes that told great stories. It was a mix of adult stories and children stories. Rebels is made for children. Most all of the stories are one offs that do nothing to move the story forward. They seemed to finally reach something interesting in Azra getting seduced by the dark side, only to abandoned that story line to tell endless one off stories, that if missed, would not really matter. This is just a story of the week, with no consequences to anything. And based on the inactivity of this board, it looks like the majority of people aren't interested in this show anymore. I hope it gets canceled and the talent behind the show can create a new show, with a richer story. Something that does not have the limits of Rebels. Something that has a definite story they are trying to tell.

360 years after episode 9 The galaxy is ruled by a platos republic style government where force sensitives are the top and are the rulers of what they call "the society", soldiers are the middle and similar to starship troopers(non force sensitives who do federal service to get more rights) they are given more rights than the "serfs" who are the bottom(non force sensitives who are not doing federal service for more rights)...serfs join the army where they could get more benefits. the bottom will have "protection" if they obey.

The society troops are unique in their design carrying chrome armor(similar to the troops from knights of the old republic and will not look like the stormtroopers at all). They all have personal shields(meaning that luke han and leia would have to have been more creative if they have wished to survive them). They are varied in their species meaning that they come in all shapes and sizes (creating a unique visual language that is unique to this trilogy picture an buff alien in Chrome armor).

this society is like platos republic meets a theocracy...where rulers are connected to the force and are more inclusive(not human centric). The force sensitive ruling class enforce this hierarchy on the belief that it is them who are on top of the evolutionary line. this society is much more frightening than the empire. picture the dune empire within the star wars universe and its ruling families being force senstives...pretty much the same.

one day the skywalker clan(elite family of the society) declares war on a rival family, a war that leads to "the burning of coruscant". During this war a member of the skywalker clan named Nadia(need something more star wars like) falls in love with a non force sensitive soldier named Kyle. The soldier and her have shared trauma because of this war but also because of her abusive father. She has 2 brothers who constantly protect her from their father who is a tyrant. one of them is named Adrius and the other has no name(as he is considered a spare, but his sister calls him tobby or tobias) . His oppression was stopped when Adrius snapped and killed his father and presented his head to the senate. Where he promised to give peace and security to the society under his rule. The 2 lovers grow close till they consummate their love in secret(because the society's eugenics laws who believe that force sensitives should breed with others whom her brothers are true believers of). Eventually Nadia is tired of this empty life of killing innocents and wants to live her own life with her own family. She abandons her brothers to live with her husband where they give birth to a child...they live happily on the run for 5 years before the mother dies of a horrid disease.

This is all back story that will be revealed later within season 1

Kyle is left with his son david he can't quite relate to or fully understand and the son is lonely and wants to connect with someone...the force alienates the 2. leading to a strained and angry relationship. The society policy is to send bounty hunters to the outer galaxy where they find force sensitive children and take them to the society to be trained as rulers. Tobias stumbles across the planet where David and his father are hiding and begins to send his bounty hunters(or army) to the surface to look for new assets. They stumble across David who is using his powers to steal stuff. He is sent to his uncle adrius skywalker who trains him to be a ruler. This training tells us a lot about David's character as he is struggling to remain himself and he grows to enjoy the life his uncle promised him. Kyle(WHO DOES NOT HAVE THE FORCE SENSITIVE) is looking for the "lost jedi"(the jedi order was not hunted down by the society but was instead completely disenfranchised and spied on...the remaining jedi are hiding to avoid the society spying on them) so they can help save his son. tobias on the other hand is hunting kyle down with his dark side assasins and army(tobias is the leader of a dark side cult that even the society is afraid of, this cult believes that the second darkness must come and be ruled by the skywalker clan). He goes on a heroes journey to save his son but also develop into a more responsible man and father and to correct his own flaws. David is also going threw his journey with 2 competing mentors...the uncle(who is possessive and wants to do what is best for his sisters son and is deeply damaged) who wants him to live the life of a skywalker(tyrant) and the droids(bb-8, r2, and c3po) who want to teach him compassion and want him to return to his father, all while davids powers are proving to be extremely powerful yet unstable...that leads to an emotional confrontation between the kyle and his son that lead to a carthasis and reconciliation. This story is like a pixar story, it's first and foremost a redemption and reconciliation story between a father and a son getting over their grief and issues. The emotional core of the story will elevate this story if done right...this is only season 1

season 2 will feature tobias and adrius going after kyle and david while kyle and david go after the bendu to help david learn his powerful yet unstable force powers...they and the "lost jedi" also are gathering allies from the FEL EMPIRE(the star wars legacy comic) to strike a blow against the society

season 3 will be the last season

this will have the same animated style of legend of korra but with a darker tone(since it will ideally be on netflix)

the show will continue. but they will make a shitty show called resistance. and a pretty god show called mandalorian. also there will be a terrible deadly virus.

Yeah, I tried to like it too, and lasted about four episodes before deciding that the main character was a dipshit and I HATED the animation. So now I'm back watching "Clone Wars", which I watched on and off during its original run, but which is good and deserves a proper look.

This show picked up a bit when Thrawn showed up, and I did like Kanan and Hera as characters. Sabine was cute too, though I didn’t like the girly graffiti art on her Mandalorian armor. Otherwise you’re right, this show was not that good.

Bringing Darth Maul back yet again was pointless since his story when nowhere. Yes I know something similar happened in Legends but it was dumb then too. He should’ve stayed as a one-off villain but writers kept milking his popularity. If they wanted to explore him more, have prequel books, comics, and games. Besides, I always liked Asajj Ventress more anyway.

The Force Unleashed and Jedi Fallen Order are more entertaining stories on what happened between episodes 3 and 4, stick with those instead.
