Its *the* pivotal plot point of the film .

LOL what a fucking puss. The dog dies and that's too horrific for you, even though it's not even graphic. Don't watch films like Halloween then cause the dog dies in that one too, it gets stabbed by Michael Myers.

As for the film itself it was decent, good performances but action wasn't graphic and brutal enough and not very creative. In fact John shows too much mercy whereas his enemies show none and it comes back to bite him in the ass repeatedly. Films like these need that Charles Bronson/Paul Schrader touch where the hero suddenly turns brutal and unforgiving. Compare this film to Rolling Thunder or Death Wish II or III.

Really?? someone is trying to compare Halloween dog killing to this?? Halloween was just a random dog probably one of those vicious dogs as well attached to NO ONE

the first 10 mins of this film showed a relationship he had with the dog and the reason for it as it was a gift from his wife before he died. the dog was his only friend at the time, and the movie went to great lengths showing how important the dog was now to him in that first 10 mins. and the innocence that dog had. his watcher, all did dog did was let him know there were strangers in his house didn't attack etc

I am pretty attached to small dogs myself having one that almost lived to 17 and current a 2 year old now and I put myself in that situation as well if some random person came into my house and killed my dog I would want to kill them all as well.

I have difficulty with seeing dogs die in movies from innocence. I don't know why but it bothers me more then someone seeing their son or daughter killed... it must be a innocence thing.

I went into John Wick knowing that the dog is going to be killed and the start of that film broke my heart knowing what was going to happen. was glad that I knew it was going to happen or be more of a shock.

so don't compare ridiculous movies like Halloween or Terminator 2 dog kills to this one, if you do you missed the entire point.
