Using his wife to fake a miscarriage seems like cheating to me. Hoagie's wife was essentially a cheerleader because she wasn't allowed to play. It seems to me Jerry's wifes' ruse was defacto her being a game player.

That's just dirty pool right there.

The first time we see Hoagies wife, she is blocking Randys getaway. She was more than just a cheerleader. Beside the game seemed to be build around cheats and creative thinking.

Yeah. Though they had rules, there was a lot of foul play going around.
