Anyone disappointed?

First off, I loved the first Pitch Perfect film. It was funny, toe-tapping and simply hilarous. In fact, I rated it 9/10. But this one, nah, what can I say? This sequel was just terrible. Plenty of cringe-worthy jokes, the script was predictable, Emily and Benji's love story subplot was terrible, and Anna Kendrick's fails to deliver the goods as the female lead in this sequel. Overall, I prefer to watch the first movie again and again. This was just a failure. I rated it 4/10 since I liked the soundtrack especially the "flashlight" and the rip-off. Anyone else disappointed?

I share your sentiments exactly. Chomping at the bit to see this and it just flopped.

I was disappointed, one of the few movies I almost walked out on (was there with company so I couldn't). Loved the first one and still feel its a comedic gem; this one on the other hand had so many cringeworthy moments, bad editing and just bad writing. I was half expecting Beca to mouth off a clever diss or comment like in the first movie but every time the camera focused too long on her, she would just playoff the awkward lesbian crush on the German chick or just flat out quiet awkwardness. The whole movie can be summed up as an awkward mess.

I noticed that too, then I read she'd ad-libbed her comebacks against the Germans...

I guess her comic timing needs work a bit eh.

I agree, OP.

Compared to the first movie , this was a complete letdown . Anna Kendrick has a lot of awkward scenes , stupid jokes , and not so much singing . There were some good scenes , but overall the movie was just weird conversations , but jokes and a bad story line, not to mention the songs in part 2 have been chosen badly

Yes i was dissapointed !

Yup, completely agree. The first one was cute and fun and even though I don't care much for Anna Kendrick I liked it quite alot. This one, though, I hated, every time they tried to deliver a line that was meant to be "funny" i was not amused in the slightest... too predictable script indeed.

It was somewhat disappointing. I love acapella and, with the exception of Kendrick, very much enjoyed the first movie. However, the sequel seemed to follow the same formula of the first as I had too many deja vu moments and noted many plot holes. Idk, it just seemed not to measure up. Loved the final song tho.
