Revenge of the Goldbergs

I still can't believe that they actually did a Revenge of the Nerds episode. On Goldbergs nontheless. Does his mom know he's watching that movie? To be honest, The episode itself was pretty tame and didn't mention the infamous surveillance scene at all. But they did surprisingly reference the panty raid in the episode though.

I doubt the Mom knew about it, no way he could have gone through with it if she did.

Back in the 80s not many parents I know monitored their kids tv watching even helicopter parents. I saw a lot of R movies on HBO as a kid. I had a tv in my room. My dad ran the cable under our hallway carpet so I didn't need a cable box. Lol At sleep overs we'd stay up late watching R movies on HBO too. So that episode was believable to me.

Yep, same. Well I didn't have a TV in my room, but I could watch out in the living room while the family was running around doing other stuff; Mom out playing Bingo, Dad fiddling around with something in the garage, me watching Last House on the Left on HBO and getting traumatized. Jesus that movie...
Yeah it was such a different world back in the 80's. It was still a big deal to get away with watching a rated R movie, but it could be done. I remember having to go to our rooms when the much awaited "Alien" came to VHS and my parents made a big deal of it, inviting another couple, popping corn etc.
Brother and I sneaked down the hall right as she was shoving a magazine in the android's mouth. I remember being weirded out by all the milk everywhere...what was up with all that milk?? Dad got up for something, we hauled ass back to the room...good times!

They were good times. I’d spend the night with friends and we’d wait till their parents went to bed so we could watch R rated movies. At one friends house we’d sleep in the living room so one of us would have our hand on the remote to switch the channel.

Oh yeah, hell yeah...no better movie than a Rated R you're not supposed to be watching lol
