Only way for this to happen now is if they

Got Neve Campbell back and set the movie with her and Patrick Dempsey and a new set of characters around her. And if they brought Stu back as the killer to finally try to kill Sidney and bring the franchise back around full circle.

Cause honestly Scream 6 had a perfect ending for the characters from Scream 5 and 6, theres not really anymore you can do with them. Could easily just focus Scream 7 entirely on Sidney where shes at now married with Detective Kincaid from Scream 3.

Sidney should survive and get her happy ending.

Agreed. Whenever it does all end I want to see Sidney finally able to put all this behind her and start a new life.

Nah just pull a Halloween/Godzilla and reboot the franchise. Make another sequel to Scream or Scream 2.

That's pretty much the only way, to ignore them. Anything else would involved explaining what happened to them off-screen, which would feel half-baked at best. Or the dreaded recasting.

I feel bad for the actors who play Chad, Mindy, and Danny, because they'll most likely be written out if it goes that way. Maybe the twins could return, but no real likelihood of Danny without Sam.

6 felt like a good ending, but only because it was their 2nd entry. Had they continued, it would've felt too "character shieldy," unless they actually had the guts to turn one or both into Ghost Face.

An earlier post mentioned Stu. Isn't he dead?

There's always been annoying rumors. I don't know why. His death was pretty definitive. And how would it work if he's in prison? They've mentioned his death numerous times since. And the government isn't going to help a prisoner cover up his own death to hide it from his surviving victims, that's ridiculous.

If they did it, they'd almost have to lean into the supernatural, which I hope doesn't happen.

It'd almost be worth letting it happen to get people to quit begging, but if he was supernatural, then he might just be a mainstay like Freddy or Jason et al

I mean even in Scream 6 they mention Stu possibly being alive, Mindy or one of the characters says something like "if you believe he's actually dead" when they're discussing previous Ghostfaces and Stu was brought up.

The original script for Scream 3 had Stu as the killer orchestrating a cult like following of Ghostface fanatics from prison, teenagers who was obsessed and doing Stu's bidding. Which due to Columbine happening they scrapped it, cause it would be in bad taste directly after that having a movie where high school kids are killing people. And they eventually turned that idea into The Following with Kevin Bacon that tv show with the serial killer whos in prison and a cult is doing the killing for him.

So if he was brought back it could always be done that way or he could have escaped prison.

But i mean its not just fans really, the movies themselves have presented the possibility of Stu being alive. Wes Craven himself was gonna bring him back for Scream 3, and again Scream 6 mention him possibly being alive.

Plus its never been said Stu was dead, they directly talked about Billy being dead but never Stu, whos to say he wasn't alive and in prison all this time?

Matthew Lillard has always talked about wanting to come back as Stu and that he could've survived a tv landing on his head. I mean a tv just landed on his head and broke, it didn't squash his head, there was no splat or blood spewing out, theres been people whos survived being shot in the head with a gun, i can buy a dude surviving a tv falling on his head.
