Why is Quinlan immune to sunlight but the rest of the born are not, e.g.: Vaun?

I know. So are the rest of The Born. Including Vaun. But he and his squad are killed by UV lights. So the question stands

I know he is. He is one of "The Born." So are the vamp squad who work for the ancients. They are hybrids. And yet UV killed them when they tried to kidnap Palmer. The question had to do with the contradiction there.

I have. Both Quinlan and Vaun are classified as dhampirs, i.e.: the born. If you find my post frustrating, then don't respond. Its a perfectly valid question.

I don't remember him being immune to sunlight. He only goes out at night and couldn't take the book because of the UV floodlights.
