Is this film a satire or are Texans really like this?

Is Texan culture really so gun-obsessed?

This reminded me of an episode of "Longmire." Especially the flow between the two lawmen. Nearly identical at times. The wit, ease of pace, and manners of the Deputy (Hell or High Water) vs. Sheriff (from "Longmire)... and it takes place in the modern west. Here, Texas. There, Wyoming.

Not as much as Florida and Pennsylvania.

The old man at one of the banks at the beginning seems pretty realistic. I've seen videos from robberies with people doing that.

The guys all chasing the robbers as they leave town, that seems a bit exaggerated to me. The guy inside shooting, sure, maybe someone outside takes some pot shots. But I don't see them chasing them like that.

I thought the same thing. Don't let people getting trollish because the are defensive bother you.

I know in Texas there's this stereotype that everyone has a gun..but when they rob the bank and like 7 people pull out their guns and chase them down with pick up trucks I wondered if this was a comedy moment or if its really like that over there.

The movie is supposed to be serious, so when more than 5 bank customers were packing and even ran outside to shoot at the robbers I was like "what the hell?"

Have you ever noticed that the people who say "DC is for adults and Marvel is for kids", are kids?

If robbed a bank in Texas(or most of the south) you would get smoked. That is definitely not satire. Source: Am from the area and everyone I know(white, black, hispanic, asian) owns 10 guns a piece.

reply

Pretty sure it was a satire.

Satire. Most of us carry a 2nd or 3rd gun in case our first one is stolen from bank robbers
