No thoughts on last night's episode, Tonya and Nancy?

I loved it!

I did as well. Joe's gonna be pissed when he finds out Cameron helped with Rover...I smell another breakup coming...lol...

The character growth In this show has been great. I will miss it greatly once it's gone. I hope we see at least the early smartphone era....but I doubt it...

Yes, he is, and Gordon too. Things have become far too incestuous between Joe/Cameron/Gordon/Donna/Bos, given how closely tied together they are and their respective businesses. Now Haley is caught up in the mix too!

I agree the character development has been excellent. A few nights ago, unable to see Saturday's episode and becoming very frustrated by it, I started watching S1 over again. As usual, I noticed subtleties I hadn't noticed in the previous 3 or so viewings, especially about Joe's character.

I feel the same, will greatly miss the show and any furthering of these characters once the finale plays. I wish this show had caught on and had gathered a larger audience than other shows have, and IMO far less deservedly so. It would be fun to see the beginnings of smartphones in the show, but I doubt we'll see it.

It would've been nice for the show to have gained a bigger audience, but considering the ratings I guess we should just be thankful of the MIRACLE that is the four seasons they gave us. It's crazy that it wasn't canceled after just one or two seasons.

I think this is a good place to end it though. HACF I think has always been about the nostalgia of the past. It's been about revisiting bygone eras. If they bring the story too close to the present then it will lose that.

I thought Cam's decision to fuck over Joe and Gordon to help Bos was dumb and felt inorganic.

Like, I get that she wants to help her friend, but at what cost? Is she really willing to sabotage her lover, her friend Gordon, and the company that she herself is a part of because Bos owes some money?

I just didn't buy it and it felt like manufactured drama from some writers who couldn't come up with anything better.

reply

They are really making Bos unlikable.

reply

I agree somewhat. Plus isn't Cameron rich? She thinks of Bos as a father. She should have just given him the money. Cameron knows all the drama that has happened in the past. With all the backstabbing they have done to each other. Now when they are all back together and friends again she throws a wrench in it. Really Bos is the only one having money issues, everyone else is in this for the excitement of creation and prestige at this point.

Oh well as least Joe and Gordon still have a good dynamic together. They have become stronger friends over the last few years since the web project.

I was hoping we would see a coder or two from the previous seasons but doesn't look like we will.

reply

Yeah, that's another good point. Cameron has money. Just give him a loan if that's what he needs to badly.

Like you say, Cam has screwed things up in the past. I guess past behavior is sometimes indicative of future behavior, but still, I just didn't find it all that believable.

I mean, she may have just sunk Comet, which could spell doom for the company. Who would do that?
