JJ says Palpatine was a clone in Return of the Jedi

As if it couldn't get any worse.

So Palpatine had numerous clones running around during the entirely of the whole saga.

This is the most ridiculous filth I've ever read in my life. Just more reasons the sequel trilogy isn't canon to me.

Not even the worst expanded universe material got this far fetched.

He's into Rowling levels of post-facto retcons.

EDIT: After pushing "submit" I realised that "post-facto retcon" is redundant...

It is not enough that they undermine the thematic conclusion of the OT but they actually have to try to go back and completely rewrite the history to make their soulless crap seem more pointant.

You can't just resurrect the corpse of Palpatine, you have to go and try to say he was never really gone; and Luke's victory and Vader's redemption/sacrifice didn't matter. Remind me, wasn't JJ supposed to be the one that loved the OT and wanted to write like a 'love letter' to it?

What is with modern remakes/rehashes/prereboots/seq-hashes/etc that don't just try to spin off the original superior films but actually try to undo or destroy them so they can prop up these artificial reanimated corpses of the franchises. All I can say is, this is going to get worse and worse. People really need to stop going to these films altogether. I have only seen 3 movies in theaters in the last 2 years and 2 of them were for my kids.

It seems murdering the franchise was not enough for them, they had to go and stomp on its grave.
