A lot of stuff didn't belong in this film. I'm all for adding humour in scenes but they went too far with the injection of humour, and it was the wrong sort of humour used at the wrong times. At least TFA got the balance of humour and seriousness right. Case in point - the Millennium Falcon action scenes had to have some silly "humorous" moment with those little owl creatures attached.
