Huh, surprised by how good the acting was

especially Pfeiffer, she really killed it, Deniro did seem a little tired and out of it, the kids weren't as annoying as I thought they'd be, and I liked the mom's rapport with the security detail, but the story just sagged and the movie literally became a chore to watch. Dianna Agron was very hot though.

What other movies can you guys think of that had good acting but a bland/uninspired story?

I thought Michelle Pfeiffer really overdid it with her accent, but as always the emotional landscape of her face was excellent.

I thought Dianna Agron's performance was really good as this innocent looking sociopath. The kid was funnier than I thought he would be. De Niro's reaction to watching 'The Goodfellas' was priceless though. Tommy Lee Jones seemed like he didn't want to be there, probably did it for fun.

yeah. i agree. i was sort of blown away by Pfeiffer and her acting. I was also blown away by how badly she is aging.

Can this really be the end..to be stuck inside of mobile
with the Memphis blues again.

Wow, how old are you? How "badly" she is aging?

I think she was around 55 when they shot this. If you or your partner look anywhere NEAR this good when you're that age, let us know.

She looked really good in this, not only for her age but in general. She is gorgeous.

I vaguely remember Timeline (2003) having a really, really great performance by Gerard Butler in a turgid mess of a plot and a film "lead" by Paul Walker who seems like he's reading his lines off of cuecards and also that he's genuinely surprised he can actually read.

I might be recollecting it imperfectly, though. I, understandably, only watched it once - ages ago.
