Expected better [spoilers]

Perhaps my expectations were too raised after the good early reviews for this movie. I was thinking maybe it would at least be up there with Skyfall. It was ok but nothing special. My main gripes were:

Too many characters
Over the top girl power
Weak villain
Confusing plot
Too much superfluous comedic moments

And for a James Bond film to do something as radical as to kill off James Bond at the end, I think such a moment could have elevated the film, but I wouldn't say it did here. It will have made an otherwise less memorable film more memorable, just not necessarily in the way I hoped. I feel that for a Bond movie to do that to the character, it deserves to be better, and the pay off should be better too. I'd rate this merely no more than a 6.5/10.

Started off well enough but it kind of fell apart during the Spectre party and didn't exactly improve much since that point.

agree on all those points. and the death of Bond shouldve felt monumental/necessary/iconic like Spock in Trek II or IronMan in Endgame or even Han in TFA ..instead it felt forced/unearned/flippant like Kirk in Trek VII or Luke/Leia in TLJ/TROS

Yes I agree. Such a moment should be iconic but his death and the ending on the whole were underwhelming, and the film wasn't ever strong enough leading up to that point that it earned an important moment like that. Amusingly, the part on that Simpsons episode where they show Bond dying is more iconic than actual James Bond dying in this.

This movie was okay but terrible as a conclusion to the Craig Bond franchise. As the credits rolled, the first thought that came to my mind was "this is all the Craig Bond series amounted to?" Some of the previous films had their faults, but a strong final film could have elevated the series and solidified the opinions of those who believe Craig's Bond movies are the best.
