Why the strange cinematography?

I'm surprised no-one's mentioned this... I didn't see the point of having every shot looking like it'd been put through an iPhone filter. Did they really have a special team colouring in Daniel Craig's eyes (and those of his daughter)?

The constant fake washed out sun glare and fake lens flare became very irritating for me.

Apparently this was shot on film. I don't understand the point if it's all going to be digitally altered to this extent. Only my opinion naturally, but I just think it's a shame considering the level and talent and expertise involved in these films.

I’ll admit it caught me off guard too. Especially the scene inside a car. The one view (from Craig’s left) was so washed out it appeared he was balding.

All movies do this ... I didn't notice it or was not bothered by it.
Although I did notice the blue eyes bit ... but they do that with all blue eyed stars pretty much. Think that started with Paul Newman and his limpid blue eyes. Redford too.

Yeah, I don't like the look some modern movies and shows have taken recently. This, the new season of Dexter, and some of the Star Wars TV shows come to mind. The "iPhone" look makes these films look more like fan films than professional big-budget productions.
