So...Ghost Protocol or Rogue Nation??

There's no wrong answer, I'm just curious to see what other people think. I loved both films, but I was blown away by GP (had no real expectations going in), while I did have high expectations for RN (and it surpassed them for a while...but I ultimately felt it didn't live up to them, though I enjoyed the film very much).
So while loving both films, and reserving the right to change my vote upon rewatch, I have to go with Ghost Protocol.

Ghost Protocol

Ghost Protocol left a huge impression. I still side with that.

Although Rogue Nation is just as great. Still consider Ghost Protocol to be superior, just because I thought the IMAX experience was incredible, watching the entirety of the Burj Khalifa sequence.

Hands down, Ghost Protocol os the best in the entire series.

Why?

The settings, locations, lightings, cinematography, stunts were all the best compared to the others.

Rogue Nation was...okay. I tried to feel the same way as how I watched Ghost Protocol but that didn't work. I still remember I left the hall in the middle of the movie and rewatch it again next week just to accompany my friends.

The lighting and mood colours in RN were bad. It's kinda hard to look as it made the screen look ultra-dynamic. And the stunts, not so good. The aeroplane scene in the beginning felt...nothing. It happened real fast. The best scene in RN would be the motorcycle chase scene.

Ghost Protocol by a land slide. I found Rogue Nation to be one of the weakest in the series after MI2. Rogue Nation felt drawn out and boring.

True!

Both are equally bad , cgi laden , ridiculously stupid and bland action movies devoid of any of the class and style of the original to cater for teenage audiences...

Mission impossible 1 will always be the best.
these 2 sucked. 3 had the most memorable villain. 2 was just an action movie.

Mission Impossible 1 because it has the best cinematography and tension, and it has Jean Reno stealing the show.

Rogue Nation

1. The car chase with no music
2. The last act, especially the explanation of the Syndicate's origins
3. Mr. Lane being trapped the same way he trapped Hunt
4. The foreshadowing of the use of the masks
5. Music by someone other than (and better than) Michael Giacchino
6. While the climax had plenty of shooting, the solution wasn't simply punching out or outshooting the bad guy (Take that, M:I 2!)

Je suis Charlie Hebdo.

It's tough to say.

Rogue Nation has the better story and especially the added intrigue of never knowing if Ilsa is good or bad. It also had the fun introduction of Rebecca Ferguson to the series. The opera assassination scene was also great and tense.

However the "missions" were rather lame and non-sensical. The whole underground hard drive water cyclone was unnecessarily complex and stylized. They could have just had a facility that was fully protected, except for the water supply, then have a ticking clock to swim through the pipe to an outlet. The swirling Star Wars torus room seemed cartoonish. The other missions weren't that obvious or intriguing, and resolving everything with latex masks is overplayed.

Ghost Protocol had the better missions and action, but was lacking the attributes of Rogue Nation described above.

Ghost Protocol was the Casino Royale of M:I 👍

If I don't reply, you're probably on my ignore list for something I forgot already
