Good until he murdered an entire floor of innocent people...

I was rooting for him up until he starts shooting random people in windows of buildings for no reason other than they are involved in the stock market, then he goes and murders a building floor's worth of innocent people (minus the "bad guy").

All those people that earn a living as traders, who don't have yachts and mansions, who live in middle-class apartments...the main character just goes and murders all of them.

It was a good film until it turned into Rampage.

That's the point, I think, of this kind of movie. As with Falling Down with Michael Douglas, we are being shown the mechanics of the dark, insane side of social anger.

We are rooting for them because life has dealt them a bad hand which just gets worse. We can empathize with their frustration and anger and the early stirrings of rage. But then they go over the edge with mental breakdowns.

This isn't about making it seem okay to kill an entire floor of innocent people. It's about demonstrating one reason why some people reach that level of rage - that there is a reason. It begins with a common thread and ends with insanity. This is how they get there.

Backseat Producers can't simply enjoy movies. They nitpick & complain about every imperfection.

he did his research he targeted the 38th floor. These traders deliberately sold junk worthless investments to innocent fools like him to earn commission.

They were guilty of fraud. He let the women go as they were secretaries, but killed all the traders on that floor.

Every single person their was a gear that turned to sustain the corrupt system that took everything from him so in his eyes they were not innocent.

It disgusts me when people care way more about fictional characters in a movie who are faking being killed than the innocent people who are actually being killed in the real world.

Yeah but the thing is, we're not supposed to be rooting for him when he starts killing people, any people. So when he eventually goes full psycho, it brings the viewer back thinking *beep* I can't root for this".

Killing corrupt bankers and businessmen who commit crimes by stealing hedge fund money and ripping off people is not the solution to the financial problems facing the world today. And even if it was, by killing off all the white-collared workers, there will always be a whole new group or generation of white-collared persons that will replace the ones killed off, so it would a mass-shooting spree would accomplish nothing. The system would not change at all. Apparently, Uwe Boll doesn't want to believe that. That's why I hate watching his films so much.

First hour is a solid drama then he goes on a rampage (apparently the director has form for this!) there wasn't anyone to root for or lessons learnt. The set up for a sequel 'I'm gonna carry on killing' made me lol.
