The #1 mistake in horror movies

Dumb decisions by the protagonists

As soon as the dude saw the clown ghost girl peeking at him from across the hall (and they had it on video) - they should have tucked tail and ran out of there ASAP and never looked back

As much as I like the movie, I couldn't figure out why when they left to walk, they cut through the woods instead of taking the road they drove in on. Not to mention it seems they forgot the caretaker said his office was just fifteen minutes down the road and would have been even closer than town.

Classic horror tropes lol

15 minutes was if they drove

reply

Obviously. I said what the caretaker said, I never said by walking or driving. My point is that is was closer than town. Yes it's 15 minutes if driving, but that's how it's mentioned in the movie to show that it's close by. That they looked at the distance to town instead of his closer place is an oversight (because early in the movie they are off the main road for a long time looking for the manor).

reply

Gotcha. They were going to have the black robed figures get involved to deter the women regardless of distance to make them turn around no matter what.

reply

100%. Once they arrived at the manor they were done for lol. Really enjoyed the movie, few inconsistencies aside (like having cell reception one minute and none the next).

unless their phones were not working or the internet.

reply

Definitely that took me out of the movie. You got what you came for. Why haven’t you left?!

That was stupid, but I want to think it all comes down to Margot. Later on in the movie, Rebecca said she understood her hobby, but it didn't pay bills. That clown ghost girl was the moment Margot realised she hit jackpot and she could become reaally rich. She wanted more, she knew that the clown girl, even if it was solid, was not enough.
So she pushed everyone in staying. But she got more than she hoped she will.
