Awkward Spider-Man?

Sorry for the second post but the first one was getting to long so I'll post the second part here. It has not much to do with the first question. It just went along with my concerns for the movie:

I also feel that in Civil War this spider man was "Awkward" Spider-Man. Like:
'Oh mister Stark I couldn't possibly go to Germany I'm too awkward'
'Wow you have a metal arm, I'm amazed! I'm so awkward in fights'
'Hey guys I have to introduce myself, cuz I'm so AWKWARD'

And I'm just like, oh god....maybe for a total of 15 mins. screen time it's ok I guess. But then I see the spider-man homecoming trailer and it's all awkward awkward awkward:
staring at his crush awkwardly
his friend finding out he is spm, by him awkwardly sneaking into his room
a random girl at school interacting with him, you guessed it awkwardly!!!!
spm thinking stark is giving him a hug, awkward, plus all his interactions with Stark, etc...

Is this gonna be the WHOLE movie? I know that when you are at a certain age things get awkward. But come on, it can't be the WHOLE movie. One trick pony style. You ALSO have to have drama, suspense, love, hate, action, etc.....

Spider-Man is a nerdy guy. He's supposed to be awkward.

He's supposed to be SMART and SHY. This Spider-Man doesn't act smart. He acts like an average kid who thinks too little and talks too much. The real Peter Parker thinks too much and doesn't say much. This character is unrecognizable as Peter Parker.

The real Peter Parker doesn't say much? Spider-Man is constantly talking.

Right? So far this is by a huge margin the most comic-accurate Peter/Spidey we've seen.

reply

Nope, not even close. The real Spidey doesn't get his equipment from Iron Man. And he doesn't have a fat loser sidekick who finds out his identity right away. The fact that Peter reveals his identity so carelessly underlines just how stupid they're writing him. And after they got rid of the unsightly, garish racing stripes on the Spidey costume in Amazing Spider-Man 2 to make a truly great-looking costume, they brought them back here to make another costume that looks like crap.

Both Spider-Man 2 and Amazing Spider-Man 2 had some truly fantastically accurate portrayals of Spider-Man. This movie couldn't be more off the mark. It's the worst portrayal by far out of all 6 movies.

I agree that the Raimi version was fantastic and might still remain my favorite Spidey franchise even after I see this one. I didn't care too much for the Amazing movies (now THAT was a Spidey who didn't know when to shut up).

When it comes to gear, none of the movie Spideys have quite got it. The Raimi version was just a smart guy with biological web shooters, the Amazing version bought his web fluid from Oscorp and didn't seem to know how magnets worked, and this one gets gear form Stark. That said, we know that this version built his own webshooters, so that's a plus.

No, but he had a cute girl next door who found out he was Spider-Man right away in a similar manner.

I hated the first ASM costume, but this one looks totally different. It's the comics Spidey costume that has some black around the shoulders and wrists is all.
