Drink the Kool-Aid

I can't think of many other shows/movies that used a song as good as they did with Drink the Kool-Aid.

Then you should watch both Big Little Lies and, albeit to a lesser extent, Twin Peaks Season 3.

This is tough not binging this show. I feel like at least one brother is definitely going to die this season. Felt bad fir Bunchy this latest episode.

I hear you. Terry’s life is worth more than $50K. The Donovans are clearly a dysfunctional family. I feel very sorry for Bunchy, though he exasperates me with his choices, and I don’t feel sorry at all for Mic. John Voight is doing masterful acting, but I despise the character. Re your request about shows and movies with inspired music choices: Big Little Lies’ narrative may not appeal to you; it’s very different from Ray Donovan; but it has the BEST music choices I’ve encountered, and I used to design high-end custom home audio systems, so I pay attention to music. BLL ranges from Motown to Bowie to a chilling a capella remix of The Jefferson Airplane’s White Rabbit that will make you quiver. Grace Slick could SING. For movies? Scorsese‘s Goodfellas and Casino, especially if you love The Stones. For other TV series, I’ll give a tentative recommendation to the Showtime limited-run Series Escape At Dannemora. (HBO’s BLL is also limited-run.) The series is still unfolding on
Showtime.

agreed, I've seen all mentioned. Big Little Lies has a great soundtrack, especially Cold Little Heart. I thought it was great when Escape at Dannemora opened with From the Beginning.

reply

not sure how far you are into this season. but yes I agree that either bunchy or terry is going to die this season. Mick is there to the end and wouldn't doubt if he outlives Ray.

reply

Terry and Bunchy both seem suicidal. Terry is due for a loss.
