Cast an American for Christ sake. His a foreign American accent is so forced. Same with the woman. A foreign actress impersonating an American with a NY accent. Hard pass.

I thought it was New York, also. It's a Chicago dialect.

Usually, Brits are great with American dialects including regional.

Apparently, Chicago dialect sounds like New York with a little Boston thrown in.

You guys need to chill out listen to an interview with the real person, Jodie Comer sounds like identical she really did her homework, she's incredible at accents.

The director said:
"Thanks to Danny Lyons’ book, we had an hour of audio recordings of the real woman that accompanied its release, which I gave to Jodie; non-American actors train in dialect more than American ones do, and that’s why I felt incredibly trusting that she could pull this off.”

Even won an Emmy playing a Russian.
