Unseen ending of "The Entire History of You '

Interesting they left this out, but he clearly murdered her.

It's fun to pop back to this thread from time to time. OP repeatedly says that those who agree do not reply. This in itself is ludicrous, and hilarious. If I were reading a thread where there was 12 pages of people clearly proving the OP wrong, but I agreed with the sentiment of the OP, I would definitely chime in. I'm confident that there may be an insignificant number of people who think the OP could possibly be right, but none that feel he is definitively correct in his theory. And the overwhelming majority of people interpret the ending as the writers and director intended.....that the wife left with the baby.

Honestly, I've begun to feel the OP is simply trolling us here. I question whether he actually believes the husband murdered his wife and baby. Still, it makes for some fun reading.

Who is "us", you and the voices in your head?

reply

Um no. With all the recording, surveillance, and technology I doubt there are very many murders. And there are no clear signs of it. Also there is a baby involved (which may or may not have been his), which means the mother took her.

I don't have time to read through the whole thread. Charlie Booker's Black Mirror is kind of a political/social critique/satire. It is not a murder thriller. If you want to see that, go watch Gone Girl or a 90's Michael Douglas movie.

Exactly, if he kills his wife then he kills the baby too. His house is clearly detached and isolated.

You're reaching and you're way too hell bent on your theory to listen to reason

A rose is just a rose.

Reason supports my theory.

Some things are best to be forgotten.
It will cause more harm then good.
That's why he removed the chip.

He just ruined the relationship himself by not being able to forgive her,and being totally obsessed with it.
He couldn't let it go. reliving it over and over again.
So she left.
He felt like a bloody fool in the end and finally feels remorse.
He removed the chip to move on with his life again and have a fresh start.

(that woman earlier in the episode felt better without it as well)

It's not healthy dwelling in the past...you learn from it, give it a place and move on again.

At least that's what i got from the episode and it's ending

She ruined the relationship, by cheating.

He ended her life, by killing her.

Now he just wants to forget the past, remove the chip, and move on with his life.

Ridiculous. There is no reason to conclude this.

I'm sorry but you're completely wrong, this is from the script...

"BLACK MIRROR - The Entire History Of You - 65.
There’s a discarded top of Ffion’s -- maybe the top she was
wearing in the last scene. It’s been forgotten during her
packing. Liam picks it up. He holds it to his face and smells
it, trying to remember her, as he clicks his remote to see..."

http://www.zen134237.zen.co.uk/Black_Mirror/Black_Mirror_1x02_-_The_Entire_History_Of_You.pdf

check it out, and he says in other parts too, so she clearly just left...

reply

Proves nothing, she dead.

http://TheMovieGoer.com

reply

Well, actually it proves everything...

Come on man, be more creative, now you're just being lazy with your trolling...

reply

You saying "it proves everything" is not proof of anything, try again troll.

http://TheMovieGoer.com

reply

So what's your proof?

reply

Assuming I claimed to have proof is as dumb as assuming she wasn't killed, you really have a lot to learn.

http://TheMovieGoer.com

reply

So, why your opinion is more valid than what the writer (Jesse Armstrong) wrote on the episode's script?

And you can quit the trolling and baiting, doesn't really work anymore...

reply

Again? What he wrote doesn't prove anything either way, and it's not what the director filmed anyway.

http://TheMovieGoer.com

reply

Actually it does, if you read the script he says a lot of times that she packed and left, and says nothing about her being killed, and if you read the script, youll see that the director did exactly what its written, in fact a wonderful script by Jesse...

I know you not gonna change your position, because you already now that you're wrong, and you're only doing this for trolling, but im having fun imagining you twisting yourself to think of something funny to say. But its a bit lame that you're doing this for almost 2 years, makes me wonder what kind of life you have, i'm actually starting to feel bad for you.
Don't take me wrong, i'm a troll myself, i love a good trolling, but you're not being funny, and you're wasting too much energy on this, take it easy my friend....

Again, cause i already linked, but you're not reading my answers

reply

Indeed that proves the screenwriter intended she wasn't killed.

But the fact that the director didn't include that scene is evidence of my point, not yours.

http://TheMovieGoer.com

reply

What scene?

That was the descripition of the whole ending sequence, from the moment that she left, until he decide to take the grain out. When he sees the house with her, and then empty, its clearly like in the script, she took her things, her nighstand its empty, he states that...

The director did a wonderful job, its very faithful to the script...

reply

The whole discarded top scene.

http://TheMovieGoer.com

reply

Watch the episode again, the scenes are there...

reply

Was it the same shirt she was wearing or not?

http://TheMovieGoer.com

reply

OMG you are a moron, I can't believe how deadset on your obviously wrong "theory" you are.

You have been given facts time and time again about how wrong you are, but because you are OBVIOUSLY much more intelligent then EVERYONE in this topic you can't possibly be wrong.

Ignored so I won't see your response, I just don't want to see any more of your completely pointless posts.

Thanks for the bump, troll.

They thanked you for the bump and called you a troll (because accusing you of being one will make us think they aren't I guess). I want to thank you also. Now more people can see how dumb and terrified of not getting the last word this person is. For God's sake they have been at this for almost two years. Do they have a job?

I do not like green eggs and ham. I do not like them or my daughters.

reply

I came here to post the link to the shooting script in PDF form. I see you've already done that. Good job. This settles the dispute (well, there wasn't really a dispute in the real sense, since there's actually just one person arguing for murder here) once and for all. It describes the scene exactly:

There’s a discarded top of Ffion’s -- maybe the top she was wearing in the last scene. It’s been forgotten during her packing. Liam picks it up. He holds it to his face and smells it, trying to remember her, as he clicks his remote to see...

There is no ambiguity either in the script OR in the episode as it was shot and screened. And I'm a filmmaker. So... well done!

People keep saying that he either killed her or she left. It’s pretty obvious he didn’t kill her as others have said. But, I don’t get why people think that she left.

She went through great lengths to hide the truth from him. Even trying to delete the memories of cheating.

After everything is out in the open, she cries and goes towards him.

To me, it is obvious he dumped her, not the other way around. And since the baby wasn’t his, it was a clean divorce, without parental responsibilities. That is why he was alone at the end.
