The whole time I kept thinking...

Hang up the damn phone!

I mean, seriously, who could be that dumb?! Regardless what the guy on the other line was saying, the solution should've been quite obvious. He kept saying "my marked units on their way". Well, okay, if that's true...than send them. Taking orders (especially mindless dumb orders) from a guy on the phone was just downright moronic. I didn't feel bad for anyone. It was just stupid.

When this movie first came out, I used to think it was interesting and somewhat darkly humorous. But now, after watching it again at age 25, I think this film is just absolutely ridiculous. The film is called Compliance. It should be called Idiocy.

Yep, there’s no excuse for this type of idiocy. A person on the phone saying they are a cop, is not proof they are a cop, and even then they can’t do an over the phone strip search. If this happened like this in real life, the store managers and anyone involved should be charged, and or jailed if necessary.

Common sense.

Agreed.

It’s hard to imagine without going through this kind of situation how one would react... but yes, the relentless stupidity on display here staggered belief - and this was a true incident, and one of many. But this is the country that voted Trump into the White House, so there’s that.
