You all don't get it

Its pretty clear that this movie is a dark comedy. The sharp contrast in mood and tone from the other 2 films is pretty obvious. I mean, the first one is well done, and most of us can agree. The second one is good in a different kind of way, like an arthouse surrealist flick like eraserhead. The only problem with the second one: Six tried too hard to outdo himself, and made the violence and gore seem cheap and Eli-Roth-ish. I think he realized that, and instead of cranking the knob on the third one, he'd just try something different. I'm pretty sure this movie is supposed to make you laugh and cringe, and realize that while the first two were actual attempts at serious filmmaking, this one can be the cult-status treat for the fans (see: Evil Dead 2).

I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my whole life. The sheer (intentional) absurdity starts with the premise and setting alone. The second I saw Laser in a Texas ten gallon, with a big belt buckle, surrounded by American flags - I knew I was in for a satire or comedy. The over the top screaming and graphic dialogue was so unusual and overdone, there's no way it can be taken seriously, even by Six. I'm sorry if you guys wanted another "serious" installment to the series. I, on the other hand, will make this part of my horror comedy collection, right in between Evil Dead 2, Dead Alive, and Slither. If you sat through this flick without laughing once, I'm sorry, but you're missing the point.

you're so enlightened and wiser than us mere mortals! You're not clever or special, literally everyone know this was supposed to be a dark comedy. It just sucked. It's just an overwhelmingly sh****y dark comedy

I think most HC fans can figure out that the shift in tone was on purpose. That alone however doesn't make the movie good for some reason. I understood it was a tongue in cheek type idea to make this one so different, but it still sucked. I saw that it was a black comedy, it just wasn't funny. Someone can understand what a movie is going for and still not enjoy it. Which seems to be what happened here since this movie currently has less than a 3/10 rating on the site...

Yeah, I see your point. But you have to admit that a movie that doesn’t take itself seriously sucks is way less of a disappointment than a movie that DOES take itself seriously and sucks big time.

Think about movies like The Postman or In the name of the king: a dungeon siege tale. These movies were fucking awful, dumb and ridiculous and the fact that Kevin Costner and Uwe Boll were actually taking themselves seriously while doing them makes them so much worse.

While I don’t like HC 3, I don’t necessarily hate on it because I know Tom Six was more than aware that it wasn’t meant to be generally praised and wasn’t serious in his approach.

The joke was funny at first but I'll admit about halfway through it started to get a little old. I still like Final Sequence but the first two are better.

There were some funny moments such as when Boss executes the guy with the stoma and says “you don’t match” then shoots him through the stoma and then is grossed out that his gun has shit all over it
