The director of 2049 is no style over substance guy. Granted the last trailer is a bit too showy in terms of production values and effects (it actually feels appropriate), but I'll reserve judgment 'till after I see the film. And yeah, Blade Runner wasn't calling for a sequel or reboot, but if that idea was eventually going to come into fruition, then I am pleased with who they got to handle the film.
As for anticipated films, 2049 is up there of course. The recently released Ingrid Goes West is also one I've been excited to see for a while. And maybe it won't be the one that many cinephiles will be flocking to, but the new IT shall be taking my money. :) Oh, and *can already hear the snickering from self-proclaimed real film fans* whatever genuinely impressive movie Marvel has left to release this year. (The god of thunder's third rodeo!)
