clues

Any noticed/confirmed clues as to Season 8?

Adding to that, is there a cumulative list anywhere of all the clues through the seasons?

Good question.

They did have a link in the finale episode, Ally was talking about going on the Rachel Maddow show and she said "If I said no to Lana Winters why would I say yes to Rachel Maddow".
Lana Winters was from the Asylum season.
They have stopped alternating between seasons set in the present day and seasons set in the past, so the next season could be either, but I feel like it is time to have another historical episode.

S1 Murder House (present day)
S2 Asylum (1964) the song "I Put a Spell on You" is what gave me the strongest hint for S3
S3 Coven (present day)
S4 Freakshow (1952)
S5 Hotel (present day)
S6 Roanoke (present day)
S7 Cult (present day)

S 8 could be prison related
Maybe racial gangs like the prisoner was telling Kai, although I feel like a KKK or white supremacist season would be too close to the Cult story we had this time, so I hope they don't do that.
Maybe the prisoner who ran over a kid in his parents car is a clue?

Another theory I am reading online is American revolution. (1700s)
Maybe a wild west themed show set in Butte Montana. That would be more likely mid to late 1800s. There was plenty of horrific stuff in the frontier. Violence and exploitation and genocide. I hope they don't just try to remake Deadwood though.

Ahaha, your whole response read like a conversation my friend and I had shortly before it aired.

I like your idea for Season 8, and that could be really cool. Hope they bring a supernatural element back though. The lack of it worked fine (for me) for Cult, but I prefer my AHS with that aspect. And such old times could make it work. Though if it involved native Americans they'd have to be careful about negative stereotypes or whatever.

Regardless of time period (though now it's in my head I like 1700s, or 1800s best), I'd like them to bring back the aliens a bit from Asylum. I didn't care for them there but think they could work better elsewhere, and the isolation of Montana in any time period could be good for that.

I agree I want some supernatural stuff back!
If they did do a frontier show in Montana, I am sure the Indians would be the victims or the good guys, not the villains. But they just better get actual Native American actors for that! That is the biggest thing that causes protests, is white people playing Native American roles. cough*JohnnyDepp*cough
Chinese people and women ( actually often young girls) were also terribly victimized in that time period and place. But Deadwood already did it and did such a great job, that I dunno if AHS should tackle it and just be a pale imitation. I love Deadwood.

Another thing to consider, is that the show has become very female-led, in terms of main characters. There were just not a lot of women involved in wars in the 1700s or in Gold Rush towns. Pioneers did bring women with them because they planned to stay and settle there, but Gold Rush towns were mostly men who left their families back home (if they had families). They never planned to stay and settle there, they wanted to make some money and then go home. So if they pick one of those periods they will have to figure a way to make meaty roles for all the actresses who appear every season.

I read something last night that said they could tie in Roanoke with American Revolution. Um, no.
The lost Roanoke colony was from 1585.
American revolution was 1776.
200 years apart.
Just saying "colonial times" is misleading because America was a colony for a long, long time. Longer than it's been an independent country.

Someone wrote about having a season of werewolves, which I adore. My favorite theme wish. You could have a Montana and Indian and shape shifter story line. Or, the American Revolution and the same.

Yes, the show needs to return to its horror roots, big time.

I was wondering , too. I just hope it's not prison themed. UGH
