TWS box office still below GOTG?

Why did a talking raccoon and tree make more money than Cap America?

It had a bigger appeal. My wife isn't big on comic book movies, but was able to easily watch GOTG and enjoy it without being into the comic books. She liked TWS, but she also had watched TFA and The Avengers, so she knew the back ground.

I still can't watch that movie all the way thru! I'd rather see the animated series; makes more sense! The movie almost turns into a cartoon IMO with all they're trying to do since the story's so lame! Hard to believe a sequel is to come; maybe it'll be better! Amazing how it can happen that way; #2 & #3 better than the original like "Blade" & "Underworld" for instance! 

Box office: 714.3 million USD

Cap is only interesting to comic book movie fans, while GotG also attracts sci-fi, space, furry and comedy movie fans.

All that, plus having '80s rock music encourages more parents to accompany their children that asked for the movie.
