Back in the day I would genuinely laugh out loud at his stuff like in 'Killing them Softly'. His latest stuff it seems like he's trying to be funny and not succeeding. He laughs at his own jokes to cue the audience to laugh back.

All his specials recently, try to have a deep message. He's a very cerebral comedian, but it feels like it's getting a bit too preachy.
