.....has never watched the original movie.

The original had some heart.
Part 2 everyone seemed to be batshit crazy.

It was also a retread of the first movie except it was set in Chicago.

Actually it did have heart. Like the first movie, there was an unlikely ‘family’ bond between Willy and Sherman. It worked really well.
