s1 was good, the rest garbage.

I just watch it to look at Claire, regardless of the plot. But Season 1 was great.

I like Homeland and think C.D. is a great actress. But my younger, less mature self might offer this "mean tweet" style take. Whenever Claire Danes cries, instead of offering her a Kleenex to wipe her tears you might as well give her some toilet paper to wipe her ass face.

Ginger should have died in the second season and season 2 would have been so much better as it suffered. I think the writers will always wonder what they could have done without being tied because of Showtime to this stupid love affair that worked so well in season 1 and only season 1. Homeland works so well as Homeland on a bigger scale. Having to watch his family was the worst part of any of the Homeland’s seasons, and that episode in Caracas and being on drugs was ridiculous.
“...Homeland will never get back on the level while keeping an eye on Brody — the very fact that he’s alive and still considered a major part of the story prevents it, is a sign that the show can’t let go of its ‘Terrorism: A Love Story’ aspect, is still more about the relationship between two characters than about a larger subject. At a time when shows like ‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘The Walking Dead’ and ‘Breaking Bad’ have taught us not to get too attached to the idea of any character, no matter how important, surviving, Homeland’s insistence on sticking with Brody feels not just old fashioned, but limiting.”
