Watching the trailer I just can't help but see "PFC Merriell 'Snafu' Shelton" from HBO's The Pacific, where yup he's fighting WW2. (And those eyes).
It's called Graves' disease.
Because Sacha Cohen wanted to do a real biopic about Freddy and the band wanted a Disney-fied version. So they went with this guy.
