Now that Bohemian Rhapsody is on heavy rotation on movie channels, I've watched it a few times. Quite agree with other comments about the artificiality of Rami's teeth and wigs. He seemed to be overdoing the teeth thing by repeatedly trying to clench his mouth to make it look like Freddie, but result is a distraction. The movie struck me more as a tribute than a documentary, and it that capacity it's fairly heart-warming, especially the Live Aid segment at the end. Ah, but I could re-watch that 100 times on YouTube and would be the real deal. Overall it's around the 6-7/10 mark, not Oscar material. Also, I've binge-watch the HBO mini-series "The Pacific" a bunch of times, so when I watch Bohemian Rhapsody I couldn't help but think "hey there's PFC Eugene Sledge on bass and PFC Merriell 'Snafu' Shelton on lead vocals". At least good they didn't go with Sacha Baron Cohen as Freddie because that wouldn't have worked at all. Biden would be a good candidate who could defeat Trump. Sure he's in his late 70s, but hey my Mom is 84 and still sharp as a knife so I'm not going to buy into any potential ageism. Joe Biden is more moderate with broader appeal across most of the important demographics. Hey anyone who would take down the orange orangutan gets my vote ;-) http://nymag.com/intelligencer/2019/02/joe-biden-last-hurrah-moderate-democrats.html https://youtu.be/QYKGZDEtCTU "Everyone"? Not so, many smart people saw right through most of his typical B.S. The Democrat ladies in white only stood up because he basically admitted the House is now full of his female opponents, including "Nancy" breathing down his neck during the entire speech ;-) https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/12/Women_Serving_in_the_U.S._House_of_Representatives_by_Party_through_2019.png/1280px-Women_Serving_in_the_U.S._House_of_Representatives_by_Party_through_2019.png "Momma's got some more blackberry cobbler for ya" Ewwww... ;-) https://uproxx.com/tv/stormy-daniels-trump-penis-jimmy-kimmel/ Yes it was almost as entertaining and substantial as the Super Bowl ;-) Now let the analysts count the lies told per minute of this SOTU bragfest. Clearly scripted who and when to stand up, especially RoboPence. Could literally see Nancy Pelosi (aka "Nancy") biting her tongue listening to Trump's BS. Thank you for that tribute, and I agree Cousteau was a true pioneer/adventurer/hero of the Silent World. That book sits prominently on my shelf, an inspiring combination of scientific adventurism and eloquent poetry. Yes the early creators of SCUBA were too careless and destructive in some cases, but without those early days the undersea world might still be much more of a mystery, and they and other responsible divers have long since learned to be more sensitive to the environment. My Dad was in the US Army back in the late 50s stationed in France on the Mediterranean coast. His first dives, using gear similar to what you see in "Le Monde Du Silence" documentary, took place off the coast of Juan-les-Pins near the Cap d'Antibes. He went on to a PhD in Marine Biology and a professor of Oceanography in Seattle Washington. Shortly after, the Calypso arrived at the University of Washington waterfront, and I met Jacques-Yves Cousteau when I was five years old. Since then I went on to become a Divemaster and have dived some of the sites originally pioneered by Cousteau and the Calypso team, most memorably the wreck of the SS Thistlegorm in the Red Sea. My Dad recently passed away, but one of the songs I played as a tribute to him and our hero was "Calypso" by John Denver. The fact that almost all the replies here are at least a year old says it all. IMDb was THE Go-To forum for discussion of movies, TV shows, and a bunch of other related or peripheral media/content/events, etc. Nothing has since taken its place. The death of IMDb message boards was tragic, for someone who believes movies are only really worthwhile when you share the experience and can openly discuss it afterwards, hours, days or years later. There has since been no adequate replacement for that forum. As others have mentioned, it's the sheer lack of traffic/userbase that is missing on forums like MovieChat. In most cases there are very few or zero recent posts on most movies/shows or other relevant topics other than the most recent popular releases/events. In short, the fun is gone, and no I don't mean trolls, haters, bullies, click-baiters, etc. What is missing is the sheer volume and diversity of abundant tolerant lively banter with 1000s of other movie enthusiasts or maybe people who just want to interact. Social media dying out due to too much political correctness, libel, defamation, litigious paranoia - no fun allowed. View all replies >
