Too lacking to enjoy

It's okay as a movie. But as Equalizer movie, it doesn't make the cut. Denzel seems too old, made older by having him shot up, walking around like he belongs in a nursing home. Movie had me wondering how he was ever gonna get anything done. The ending sequence seemed anti-climactic. The only thing we're reminded of is how sneaky ruthless he can be.

I think this would be a good franchise, but it needs new blood.

I watched it tonight. I actually enjoyed it a lot, but I definitely noticed that Denzel looked old and that the action scenes were minimized compared to earlier entries. That's actually an understatement . . . there were very few action scenes at all. It's clear that they were trying to work around Denzel's age (and speaking of which, I was shocked to look him up and see that he is less than a year away from his 70th birthday).

Nevertheless I liked the movie, mostly due to the cast, character interactions, and setting.

Well-said.

I might be in the minority in saying this but they shoulda stopped after the first one.

Part one was solid. Loved it a lot but the sequels have been very lackluster. Not just the action but the writing/story has been weak.

Denzel has literally been the only thing that has kept me watching.

I'll go ahead and give them the 2nd one. It was good enough. But this one.........geez........

I woulda enjoyed the second one IF I hadn't seen or enjoyed the first one.

Also the climax to part 2 was such a letdown. At least for me.

But, Denzel was still entertaining to watch. Even when he's in mediocre movies, he still brings it!

I've seen them all and enjoyed them all. I watched Part 3 last night and found it to be an enjoyable enough film. Yes, the action is toned down, but I thought it made up for it by having some interesting characters in an interesting town, and it also reunites Denzel and Dakota Fanning in a film for the first time since Man on Fire, which I thought was interesting.

Not just the action, the story in 2 & 3 were very lacking for me. Didn't hook me like the first one.

But hey, to each their own.
