Which Did You like better? This or Silver Lining Play book, your age?

Which Did You like better? This or Silver Lining Play book, and what is your age?

I feel that SLP was probly ten times better, and was much deeper and less pretensions, I LOVED perks of being a wall flower, but it was pretentious at times especially the scene where logan or ema are hanging out from the top of the car when it goes into the bridge, but pretinsiouness is not bad all the time and I really liked the movie, I would give "Perks" a A- and SLP a A+. Which did you think was better? Iv'e noticed the younger generation likes "perks" better(which is wierd cause i am the youger generation, im 15), some of my friends though SLP was stupid and thought perks was amazing, Here are my movie suggestions for 2012-

This.

I was slightly disappointed by SLPB....although I still enjoyed it.

I like both movies, but Charlie is a more relatable character for me. He has emotional/mental issues, but given his introverted personality, it's subtly shown. In Silver Lining's they're kind of over the top.

Nothing has made me feel as much as Perks, It made me read the book and invest so much time into this movie, it is my favorite movie of all time, I loved SLP but it had a fraction of an impact compared to Perks. I love perks so much because it connects with so much of what I have going on because I am literally *beep* up in the head and all that so it just feels that 'someone' is out there feeling the same thing.

I'm 25 years old and although Perks kept me engaged the entire time, I have to say I liked Silver Linings Playbook more. Maybe it's because I studied psychology and I can relate to it a bit more than Perks. SLP was a bit more graphic with the psychological outbursts. Either way, both films were great and had a tremendously talented cast.

My vote goes to Perks.

I didn't enjoy SLP at all. In fact, it's more pretentious than Perks for reasons other than the Modern Love scene.

Silver Linings Playbook copped out on its interesting premise/characters and became a routine (if not well enough acted) romcom by the third act. Perks stayed true to what it was throughout the whole thing. It showed the highs and lows and the inevitablities Charlie was gonna have to go through by hanging out with all seniors and dealt with it. Perks doesn't neccesairly have a "they lived happily ever after" ending, but more of a "life goes on but now it can be a little bit better" ending. SLP DID feel like "And Bradley Cooper/Jennifer Oscar Stealer Lawerence lived happily ever after!"

I've seen Perks at least 3 times; I have no reason to revisit SLP anytime soon.

I agree with the third act cop out. I really enjoyed the beginning of SLP, and thought they did a great job of demonstrating what living with a bipolar person in the house is like (being awakened in the middle of the night for ridiculous reasons, all the tension between Pat and the parents).

It was well acted but the moment the characters started getting along, all traces of mental illness were dropped. If someone walked in on the third act they would have no idea this movie had anything to do with mental illness.

Perks on the other hand was nearly flawless in my opinion. Yes I cringed at the "the smiths are my favorite band too!" line, but apart from that it was a beautlfully crafted piece of art.

SLP was a decent movie that did not live up to its potential. It could have been nearly as good as Perks, IMHO.

Perks, and I am 38. Never understood the hype of SLP, but I do love Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper. Jennifer should have won the first oscar she was nominated for which was Winter's Bone.
