I might have missed the explanation for this but what was that scene about?

Judging from her appearance, I believe it was someone in her past that she was dating and going to meet. It looks as if he was going to propose, but she became frightened because he didn't know her secret and she would outlive him causing more pain. Thus she decided to drive away and probably disappeared to end the relationship.

OK I wasn't finished watching lol, but it appears that Harrison Ford's character was that guy, hence why he knows her.

I was wondering about the guy as well. I thought it was Ellis. Strange but interesting film.

Not to be a prick, but how much of the movie did you watch? You didn't get what went on with her and Ellis's dad who was played by Harrison Ford? He was going to marry her. Huge long scene about him getting to tell her how bad he felt when stood up.
