Appears to be style over substance.
Because it's there on Netflix I gave it a chance. I could not stand the first 5 minutes or so with the insane mother. I read some reviews where people could not stand more than 20 minutes. Anyway if you want to draw someone into your movie, you don't have creepy things right at the beginning. It's like they are signalling "this is why everything happened. Her mom was insane." We knew about the mom. Making up scenes that the filmmakers think will be believable is not helpful or useful or entertaining or anything at all except bad filmmaking.
Another thing, having the broken portrait on the wall of her supposed father come to life and talk is just stupid.
It is very weak.
Time waster.

It didn't grab me either. I got as far as the early scene of her screaming while on the floor. That was enough.
